About Us

How We Work

Our goal is to help divert as much food waste from landfills and incinerators as possible. That means, designing a scalable model that can accommodate a high volume of food waste while allowing us to operate efficiently and sustainably.

To achieve this, we’ve chosen to work with anaerobic digestion facilities, such as Trenton Renewables in Trenton, NJ.

The facility’s relatively small footprint, proximity to major population centers and ability to accept all types of food waste, including packaging, make it an obvious choice as we work with households, businesses and municipalities to divert their food waste.

Anaerobic digestion is one of the EPA’s most preferred methods for processing food waste and supplies us with both renewable energy and compost!

The founder of Green Bucket Compost, Isaiah, sitting on a bridge with three compost buckets

Isaiah Green

Founder, CEO

A New Jersey native and lifelong compost fanatic, Isaiah graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2017 and spent three years in the wealth management industry before launching Green Bucket Compost.

“I started this business because I wanted to help everyone live a more sustainable life. We can’t all buy electric cars or install solar panels, but we can reduce our waste by separating organics at their source.”
